Former number two in the world rankings for tennis Tommy Haas has officially announced the end of his racing career.
Haas, who will be 40 years old on April 3, is ranked 259th in the last ATP ranking and currently works as director of the Masters Series in Indian Wells (USA). The German came to second place in the world rankings on May 13, 2002, and in eight of his seasons as a professional he finished in the top 20. He has reached the quarterfinals in all four Grand Slam tournaments, with three Australian Open semifinals (1999, 2002 and 2007) and Wimbledon Semifinals in 2009. He also has a silver Olympic medal at the Games in Sydney 2000.
