Chandhok spoke about how McLaren should manage the fight between Norris and Piastri. Commentator and former Formula 1 driver Karun Chandhok shares his views on team orders for the 2025 McLaren showdown between Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
I would give them both equal number one status - perhaps until the summer break, because I think they are equally deserving of that status.
Oscar is on the rise. Lando was number one [in 2024], without a doubt. Lando was faster. However, Oscar has shown amazing improvement since his debut season and will continue to improve.
So I would give them equal status and evaluate the situation in the summer. If there is a fight for the title, then I would more decisively name them the first and second pilots after the summer break, " Chandhok said.
