An English non-league match was interrupted due to insults directed at a female linesman.
The Division 6 match between Scarborough Athletic and Darlington 1883 (2-5) was stopped in the 54th minute after fans began shouting abuse at assistant referee Emily Carney. The main referee of the match, Dean Watson, signaled the players to leave the field. 38 minutes passed before play resumed.
Earlier in the first half, the match had already been stopped due to insults from fans towards Carney, after which a call to refrain from making misogynistic comments was read twice during the break.
The game from today soccer events was stopped by the referee during the discussion. Only officials know what is really happening.

Darlington later released an official statement asking for help in finding those responsible for the incident.
During the first half of the Scarborough game, a female assistant was subjected to alleged misogynistic remarks from one or two Darlington fans.
