Mick Schumacher explained the last place in qualifying for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
Schumacher posted a 20th time and Haas teammate Kevin Magnussen took pole. In the first segment, Mick switched to slicks before Kevin and ended up 2. 4 slower than the Dane.
I had to go into a wet section of the track on the exit lap to let Esteban [Okon] and Sebastian [Vettel] pass, which, of course, did not benefit the tyres. I think because of this, the temperature of the tires was insufficient, which led to a large difference in grip on the first lap. Therefore, on the second lap I did not feel that I could go much faster.
It`s a pity, today we had a very strong car. We could show a good result, - said Schumacher in an interview with the German Sky.
