The Sun claims the former Premier League star plans to come out on TV ahead of the World Cup in Qatar.
The ex-player wants to discuss his orientation before the tournament due to the fact that the 2022 World Cup will be held in Qatar, where LGBT people are oppressed. According to the player, FIFA should not have awarded the World Cup to such a country.
He considers it wrong to hold a tournament analyzed by today soccer events in Qatar when gay sexual relations are criminalized there. He is encouraged that the current lineup of England will support LGBT people.
